The Role of Beauty in Everyday Life

It’s easy to think of beauty as something extra. Something we add after everything else is taken care of. Something optional. Something reserved for special spaces or finished rooms.
But I don’t think that’s true. I think beauty plays a much more important role than we often realize.
It shapes how we feel in a space:
- How we begin our mornings.
- How we rest at the end of the day.
- How we welcome people into our homes.
Beauty is not just something we look at; it is something we live inside. The colors we surround ourselves with, the objects we choose to keep, the art we place on our walls — all of these things quietly influence the atmosphere of our homes.
And over time, that atmosphere influences us. It can make a space feel calm, grounded, thoughtful, or alive.
For me, creating art has always been connected to this idea. This is especially true for original faith-based art. Not just creating something visually interesting, but creating something that carries a certain feeling. Something that can sit quietly in a room and still have presence. Something that can be returned to.
I think we underestimate how much the small, consistent moments of beauty matter. How much bringing original faith-based art or pieces that capture our lives matter.
Think about a favorite painting you pass every day. The light hitting a surface in the afternoon, or a favorite corner of your home that feels collected and intentional.
These things shape our lives more than we realize, and and that is why I believe beauty is not an extra. It is something worth choosing carefully.
