A Little About Me: Amanda Craig
My name is Amanda Craig, and I am an emerging mixed media artist based in Bastrop, Texas, creating under the name of Little Haven Art Studio.
My Inspiration
I create art to help you realize an authentic home space–one that truly reflects who you are. Whether you are new to art collecting or a seasoned pro, it can be challenging to keep your focus on the big picture. Because of this, I enjoy giving ideas to collectors to highlight your new art and make it a true feature in your home.
If you are interested in paintings with layers of complexity, texture and depth are what I provide to my collectors. I find that leaving layer after layer of plaster, paper, paints, recycled objects, graphite, inks, and more on a canvas or wood panel to be a therapeutic process. The more layers, the better. The process leaves a trail or history behind you, just like life, and the texture conveys a story which is up to the collector to receive.
I am also a faith-centric artist. My inspiration for the images I create is directly tied to viewing life through the lens of my faith. My faith in Jesus gives me confidence about who I am, and the courage to create.
Thematically, I enjoy painting landscapes, florals, and more, inspired by the world around me.
Your Artistic Journey
This is where I could be talking about my journey as an artist, but I’m not because the artistic story here is truly about you.
There are too many American homes filled with mass-produced home decor. These items represent wasted money, wasted time, wasted resources. These items fill our homes and eventually our landfills.
You deserve original art. Beauty that captures your life experiences in thoughtful moments or emotions, and specifically and with intention, grace your walls. They tell your story.
Your story may be photographs and painting, or it may be ceramics and macrame. But whatever your story looks like, tell it.
Be courageous. Be unique. Be a voice. Explain why you choose to carefully curate your home with essential pieces that are mindfully purchased and represent who you are–your beliefs, your colors, your memories, your loves, your all.
